Special mention goes to this nightmare, created by modder sir_galahad172, that transforms the unnamed cat into a horrifying atrocity bearing the face of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas protagonist CJ. Of course, it wouldn't be a Stray mod roundup without a nod to some of the more horrifying makeovers you can give to Stray's feline hero. Stray's cat protagonist is unnamed and of indeterminate gender, so it's pretty easy to see why modders and players want to play through the adventure as their own little buddies. Adorably, modders are also modding in their own cats, as well as pets that other users have requested. If you prefer to keep things feline, you'll find lots of mods that change the central cat character's color and markings there are mods for black cats, tuxies, and Siamese friends, and you'll also find mods that add an eyepatch or a newsboy cap to your cute kitty. Perhaps the obvious place to start is Chris Rubino's Happy Puppymod, which lets you explore Stray's cyberpunk city as a pupper.

Naturally, there's a Stray mod that lets you play as a doggo.
